Yeah, English is weird that way. As a kid it took me forever to figure out that C can sound like S or K, and that PH and F sound the same, and since when does TION sound like SHUN? 😛
Well it’s additional work to run the comic in two languages. The size of the speech bubbles would vary so I’d have to draw what’s behind them and some gags might not translate well.

I have submitted your request to have the spelling of divide officially changed to devide to the authorities in charge of English spelling and pronunciation and it will be forwarded up the chain of command to the relevant authorities. There’s a bit of a bureaucracy, though, and it has to go through a few committees, who will submit their reports to be analyzed by other committees and revised for further analysis and review, but the change should go through in no more than 120 years. 150 at the most.
