I don’t think you can be too old for comics. But the term graphic novel always feels like you’re trying to cover up that it’s a comic to me. 😉

I don’t think you can be too old for comics. But the term graphic novel always feels like you’re trying to cover up that it’s a comic to me. 😉
My Dad explained the other use for the word ‘graphic’ and it made plenty of sense to me. Of course he was letting me actual comic books that came pretty freaking close by that point.
I guess you could go by that, but not every graphic novel is “graphic”. Then again, not every comic is comical either, so I’m not sure it’s a better term.
Still, the term graphic novel always has that undertone of “totally not a comic guys, honest” to me.
It makes the most sense to me if it’s one big self-contained book, but people use it for their ongoing online comics too and I’m not sure it means anything anymore. 😉
